I dont have a title yet lol

A common saying I hear in online spaces mostly neurodivergent circles is that you have to let go of arbitrary rules that don't serve you. But if you aren't already tuned in to what things are completely arbitrary it's hard to figure out what you could be re-thinking about how you do things? Anyway, these are some little tips and ways that I change my environment and schedule to fit me.

  • Trash cans reach-able from every common seating or sleeping spot
  • Cleaning one room a day at a time instead of trying to clean the whole apartment in a day
  • Sleeping on a futon so that the 'bedroom' can be an art room that I can hide in or avoid the clutter
  • Extension cords everywhere for easily reach-able outlets
  • Doing dishes anytime I have something cooking and challenging myself to see how much I can get done while waiting
  • Making shallow storage bins that custom fit my shelves
  • Covering a tall IKEA bookcase with a cheap curtain rod & fabric curtain to hide my office clutter
  • Changing clothes whenever I feel like it instead of only in the morning and evening
  • Keeping a laundry hamper for kitchen towels
  • Keeping pain meds in a box by the couch/bed instead of the bathroom
  • Every room needs a clock so I'm less likley to pull out my phone
