The Ink Thief
The Ink Thief is a flopped British kid's TV show from 1994. It was written by Paul Springer (who also plays a side character) and stars Richard O'Brian! Yes, that Richard O'Brian! He also wrote the music, and performs one really good song for the series.
Richard O'Brian makes a shark:
Two kids, Jim and Sam, discover the Ink Thief, a fictional creature made of imagination who has hatched a plot to steal the ink off of children's books and use the power of imagination to take over the world! He tricks the younger brother Jim into helping him, and Sam must team up with Miz Tiggle the librarian, her Dog, and the rest of the 'bumps' to take on the Ink Thief and his rat and cat henchmen. This is such a strange show. I love the costumes, the songs, the 2D and janky 3D animation integrated with live-action footage. With only 7 half-hour episodes, it's totally worth a watch if you love campy cheesy kid's media and Richard O'Brian's bits are genuinely funny.
