Trip to the Moon

This is not a page about the 1902 Georges Méliès film "A Trip to the Moon", it's about the queer rock opera adaptation by Adam J Rineer!

I love when like recognizes like, I can tell by the citations and references on the lyric book alone that Adam is an absolute nerd for the original Trip to the Moon and sci-fi stuff. The 80's prog rock score lends itself to a ton of sampling from everything from Jules Verne quotes to 60's B-movies to modern politcal speeches, it just blends in so well. The show also really impressively adapts the original short film beat by beat, even little obscure details like the umbrellas, while adding mutiple layers of queer and political themeing.
